How to make Stroopwafels

There was an outdoor market in the old inner city of Deventer. In one booth there was a man making Stroopwafels. He would cook the thin waffels and then cut them in half which seems impossible. He would then spread carmel on the inside and replace the top half. You could smell the sweet stroopwafels 50 feet away. I could not resist.
